Ok, so this little guy has been annoying the sh*t out of me for a few months. So I finally reached out to Apple Support on Twitter and they delivered. I was able to download Java and make that pop up stop. If you're having the same issue, then try the link. I don't know why I didn't reach out to them sooner.
