j.a.Molina | About

Jennifer Arlem Molina is a multipotentialite creative soul who is passionate about women’s rights, accessible high quality education for all, and community development. The challenges she has faced and successfully defeated are the main reason why she dedicates so much of her time advocating for gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Originally from Mazatlan Mexico, but has called Seattle, Washington home for over two decades. She frequently references her childhood experiences as a source of inspiration. Jennifer has a B.A in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from the University of Washington. Her work has been exhibited in the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest and Mexico.

She’s formerly the Economic Development Program Manager at Latino Community Fund of Washington State, where she created and implemented innovative strategies to empower small business owners; with particular attention on supporting women, immigrant and minority owned businesses. In addition to ensuring that Latino and business leaders of colors in King County were engaged with economic development resources; Jennifer was responsible for teaching women empowerment workshops which focused on labor ordinances, salary negotiation and personal development. She was also responsible for managing all events and partnerships for the Latinos in Tech and Hispanic Seafair programs.

She is currently the VP of Social Responsibility at ALPFA Seattle and part of the Leadership Team for Latinas Lean In Seattle Circle and F Bomb Breakfast Club. In the last two years, she has produced and led over 60 events surrounding diversity and inclusion and hosted over a dozen women empowerment retreats in the Seattle area. She’s been a speaker for the City of Seattle, Office of Labor Standards, Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN), University of Washington at the Carlson Leadership & Public Service Center, ALPFA Seattle, and Seattle Public Schools; as well as a regular guest on Spanish radio and Seattle Public Library business podcasts.

Jennifer’s mission is to inspire people to work together to build a more vibrant and stronger community. Her vision is a landscape where everyone has access to the tools and strategies needed to succeed. She is dedicated to connecting communities of color to resources and helping build the capacity of future leaders. She hopes to contribute to the work others are doing in the community by being a bridge between communities and information while using education as a tool for empowerment.

If you’ve got an opportunity, or want to collaborate, please get in touch. Jennifer is available for both contract and freelance work (pro-bono at her discretion). She is available for short/long-term or retainer based projects.

24 Hours of Gratitude Challenge

Are you up for a gratitude challenge this weekend?

Election season was toxic and emotions are still running high for a lot of people. Understandably so. I even had a racist encounter while walking home and it took a lot out of me, but I did not respond with hate or violence. If I had a reset button on this past week I would press it without hesitation. But as we know, there are no do-overs in life. So, I will do my best to not allow hate into my heart. I will focus on the good, make sure those around me see good, find ways to do good and hope that the ripple is far reaching.

A while back, I did this challenge; the goal is to go 24 hours without complaining about a single thing. If you mess up, it's ok to start over. You might be surprised at how hard this can be. By doing so... I was much more mindful of how I think (and what I spend my time thinking about) and it shone a light on the ways I could choose to be more positive.

So, today I once again embark on that challenge and I invite you to join me. I challenge you to be mindful of your complaining for (at least) 24 hours. This isn’t about living a complaint-free life. It's about challenging yourself to do something that’s potentially life-changing during the only time that matters... today.
